John Burgess, Principal

As Principal Strategists and Creative Director, John oversees all brand strategy and communication design work for clients. He believes that powerful, successful brands are alive in both the heart and mind of stakeholders, and expressed powerfully at every point of contact. As a strategist, writer and creative director John has developed communications for a variety of consumer and b2b clients over the past 25 years, including some of the most successful brands in the world. John's experience includes the creation of brand expressions in all mediums: print, interactive, 3D, exhibits, film and video. 

John's most recent projcts have involved holistic brand-building initiatives for several large firms in the A/E/C space including MG2, Sellen, WATG Architecture and GGLO Design and for Fortune 500 brands Nike Women's, Boeing Commercial Airplanes, Microsoft, Microsoft Windows™ and eBay.

Prior to forming 2Seventy, John was Co-founder/Principal at Incite Partners for 11 years,
and Sr. VP/Creative Director with The MWW Group, one of the top 10 PR firm in the U.S in 2002-2004. Early in his career, John co-founded WERKHAUS, which operated for 13 years as one of Seattle's leading brand design firms. Client engagements included Nintendo of America, K2 Skates, Starbucks Coffee, Wells Fargo Bank, Adobe Systems, Discover Card, Henry Weinhard's Brewery, MSN, Morgan Stanley Dean Witter, the Jane Goodall Institute and WorldCampaign.

John has been a featured speaker at METROPOLIS Conference ‘Finding the Thread of Sustainability' and in several local brand strategy seminars. In 2000, he authored the chapter ‘Design for Marketing' in the book Cracking the New Economy: Business Tools for the Entrepreneur (WSA). John is a Certified Trainer of Emotional Intelligence.
